"He has been a very lucky boy, and thankfully it seems he only has bruising and no internal injuries and we are now all at home," Adam said in a post on Nailsworth Chat and Information.

Theo's dad also thanked the doctors who came to the little boy's aid, and passersby who helped move their daughter out of harm's way.

"If anybody knows these people we would be really grateful if they could pm us their names so we can thank them personally," Adam asked.

The four-year-old is believed to have been knocked down by a horse during a remembrance parade in Nailsworth this morning.

Although an air ambulance attended the scene, a spokesperson from South West Ambulance Service confirmed that the little boy was taken to Gloucester Royal Hospital by road.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire Police said: "We were called to Church Street in Nailsworth at 10.40am today following reports that a child was kicked by a horse during a remembrance procession in the town.

"We are really touched by everyones care and thoughtful comments, please update and let everyone know he is ok," Adam told the SNJ.

"We certainly don’t blame anyone, it was just an unfortunate accident and luckily no serious injuries came from it."
