Morris School of Dancing was holding one of their weekly line dancing classes in Prestatyn when members of Rhyl Lifeboat Crew attended to receive a generous donation.

Miriam Morris handed over a cheque for £1,000 to be used for the Rhyl Shannon Appeal, to Darrel Crowther, Lifeboat Operations Manager at Rhyl. He attended with crew members Charlie Williams and Alex Beattie.

Darrel explained to the group that their existing Mersey-class Lifeboat is coming to the end of its working life after 27 years on station, and will be replaced by a state-of-the-art Shannon Class Lifeboat in October 2019. This £1.000 will be added to the Shannon Appeal Fund. Darrel invited members of the Line Dancing group to visit the station for a guided tour.

The Rhyl RNLI Shannon Lifeboat appeal was launched in March 2018, with a target of £150,000 to be raised by the Rhyl branch, as part of the costs to replace the boat and it's launching equipment.
