On Sunday, November 3, Watermoor Community Group unveiled their tribute to the fallen from Watermoor in the war at Watermoor corner.
The event was attended by the British Legion, the Beavers and other groups,
Chair of the community group Cllr Jenny Hincks thanked all that came and helped make the event happen, before Father Howard performed a short ceremony and unveiled a brass plaque with the names of more than 100 men and women that gave their lives.
Cllr Hincks said: “This has been four years in the planning, and we have been contacted since with more names of people who lived in Watermoor it has been a humbling to listen to those stories.
"It would be very difficult to imagine this world without those who gave us the greatest gift of all the freedom that comes from their sacrifice.”
