THE line-up for Malmesbury's first plastic free festival has been announced.

Malmesbury Against Plastic are hosting a free, one-day festival at Malmesbury Town Hall on November 24 titled the Plastic Unwrapped Festival.

In collaboration with Malmesbury Town Council, they are hosting the festival in order to spread awareness of plastic-pollution and to engage and inform the community on the matter.

So far, a senior manager at Marks and Spencer, a marine conservationist and a CEO of a local company at the forefront of plastic recycling innovation have all been released as guest speakers.

As well as guest speakers, there will also be a variety of film screenings in the Malting Room, an art exhibition in the 'Planet Protector Zone'.

A photobooth installation, tombola, silent auction, documentation of the day by ‘The Flying Monk Radio’ and a range of light bites will complete the offerings.

A MAP representative said: “We are thrilled to have such a diverse range of speakers for our visitors, all of which are at the front line of tackling one of the most pressing issues of our time – plastic waste.

“We are so excited about the 24th November and we can’t wait to see you all there.

"We hope it’s going to be a festival to remember!”
