Police were shocked to discover a driver stopped in Cirencester at 6pm on a week day evening was more than six times the drink drive limit.
The shocking incident reportedly happened on Tuesday, October 30, in the centre of the Cotswolds town.
A male driver was stopped by police, before he was asked to take a roadside breathalyser test.
He is said to have blown over six times the legal drink drive limit and was immediately arrested.
As the drink drive limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, the driver must have blown in excess of 210 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
Cotswolds Police said: "Now he's looking at a night in our zero star accommodation."
