SIR GEOFFREY Clifton-Brown MP has proposed an amendment against a bill which is seeking to ban possession of .50 calibre or higher weapons.
These weapons are so powerful that they can immobilise a vehicle or truck from a mile away.
The police have stated that it would be impossible to defend against these if terrorists got hold of them.
As we approach the centenary of World War One, the so-called ‘war to end all wars’, our Members of Parliament should have national and world peace at the forefront of their minds. Sir Geoffrey should not be supporting the possession of such weapons on our streets.
In contrast, Cotswold Green Party is holding an event about Conscientious Objection in Gloucestershire during World War 1.
All are welcome to the free event at Kemble Village Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 1. There will be refreshments.
