BOSS Charlie Griffin lauded the impact of loanee Tommy Ouldridge who marked his return to Cirencester Town with a goal.

Cirencester atoned for their FA Cup defeat at Winchester City 10 days ago to post a 4-2 victory at the Corinium Stadium.

Ouldridge, on loan from National League South Hungerford Town, fizzed in a first-half leveller after Oli Bailey had opened the scoring for the visitors.

Alan Griffin headed Town ahead after the break, but City equalised when Jamie Barron pounced.

With the game heading for a draw, hot-shot striker Ben Whitehead scored twice in the final five minutes.

A delighted Griffin, said: ” It was nice to get back to winning ways and play our first game at home in eight games.”

“Tommy was excellent and took his goal fantastically well. He gives us a different spark - gets on the ball. Our all-round display was brilliant and the whole squad put a shift in.

“We passed the ball well and our movement on-and-off the ball was excellent. I was really pleased with our energy levels and our tempo was good.”

Cirencester travel to Bideford on Saturday.
