THERE is still time to nominate someone for the Rosie Rumble Award, the community award for an individual who has worked selflessly for the benefit of people in Siddington.

Voting slips were included in this month’s edition of the Village News and can be left securely in a box in the village shop.

If you’ve mislaid your voting slip you can still vote by writing down your nominee and their contact details, your name and contact details and the reason for nomination.

The award was introduced to honour Rosie, who was a community stalwart from Siddington who lost a lifelong battle with polio in 2011.

She was described as a selfless person who, despite disability, had an "inspirational" outlook on life.

Rosie was awarded the Gloucestershire Medal for Courage in 2000 after being nominated by Siddington Parish Council.

Her husband Chris, who the award also honours, was a councillor who served on Siddington Parish Council for 25 years, prior to his death in 2016.

Nominations should be in by November 5.

The award will be presented at a ceremony on Saturday, November 10.
