Experience coach Lee Randall has joined Fairford Town's backroom staff to work with manager Jody Bevan.

The Scotsman spent more than 10 years with Gloucester City and was assistant coach at Redditch United at the start of this season before moving to Cinder Lane on Wednesday.

Randall has represented Celtic, Oldham Athletic and Slough Town during his playing career. He reached the FA Trophy semi-final during his spell with Slough.

On joining the club, Randall told the club's website: “I have been keeping an eye on things from afar but I am delighted to be back in and part of the group with Jody, Reidy and Shaun is great. The lads know what I am about. I’ll be brutally honest and offer an opinion.

“It’s non-league football and the players are here for a reason, but what they’ll find at Fairford is that they’re part of a very good football club. Fairford do things exceptionally well for the level of football and the lads need to start repaying the people behind the scenes and how the club is run.

“I will give the lads plenty of motivation and a lot of honesty, supporting the management team that’s in place.”

Manager Jody Bevan was delighted to have secured Randall’s services. He added: “I’m delighted that Rands has agreed to join the coaching team at Fairford. He is somebody who I have tried to get involved for some time now and provides immense experience of the non-league game.

“We have known each other for a long time and share the same passion and belief in the standards and disciplines required to have a successful football club.

“His knowledge and character will be a huge asset in developing and nurturing the host of young players we now have in the first team squad at Cinder Lane.”
