Train passengers can expect an easier journey to and from London today due following over 24 hours of delays and cancellations.
Customers were warned 'not to attempt to travel by train' until it was confirmed that the route has been reopened.
Lines had been closed, and all trains cancelled between London Paddington and Reading on Tuesday evening and throughout wednesday due to damage to the overhead electric wires on that section of the line.
But a full service appears to now be in place between Paddington station from Kemble, Stroud and Stonehouse.
A spokesperson for GWR said that the damage was caused by a train being tested: "[the] overhead wire damage was caused by test train being operated by Hitachi in the Ealing area.
"The train was not in passenger service."
Passengers are still advised to check the GWR website before travelling.
