PLANNING is underway to offer a special event for younger residents in Lechlade during half term week.

Local community and arts organisation World Jungle has received support from Gloucestershire County Council and Cotswold District Council to deliver a fun afternoon of games, Halloween themed crafts, outdoor play activities, circus and more on October 26 from 1-4pm.

This event will be held The Lechlade Memorial Hall Recreation Ground. The day is free, with a small charge for face-painting.

Ben Ward from World Jungle said:“We are very excited to have this opportunity to work alongside the local council and provide something fun for children and parents during half term.

"It would be great if children want to dress up for the event in fancy dress or just come along prepared to have lots of fun. Activities are mostly free but there may be a small charge for face painting just to keep the queues down."

The funding was made available under Gloucestershire County Council Children’s Activities Fund. It will also include another event in the New Year.

Cllr Sue Coakley whose idea it was, said: “It's brilliant to be working with World Jungle who have a great reputation for delivering fun activities for children and young people around the county.

"It is really important to provide free play opportunities for children during the holidays which promote physical activity, getting outdoors and using local greenspaces.”

Free to attend- turn up on the day.
