A SCHOOL is 'reeling in shock' after having a vital banner stolen in Cirencester.
North Cerney Primary School's promotional banner, located on Spitalgate Lane traffic lights, opposite the Rugby Club in Cirencester has been stolen.
The banner cost over £100, thanks to the efforts of the school PTA, and was erected alongside other schools to advertise the school.
However last week, as the chair of the PTA drove past the site, he noticed that it has disappeared overnight, with no trace, no evidence or no explanation.
Executive head Mrs Suki Pascoe said: “As people are increasingly attending their local village schools and realise the benefits of smaller classes, this was a great way of letting people know we are here and we welcome new pupils.
"That someone would deliberately cut away something that harms us financially in this way, is really very upsetting.
“I just hope that people will discover that every day is an open day at North Cerney.
"All are welcome anytime to come and visit us for a personal tour.”
North Cerney Primary School is currently undersubscribed but is hoping to return to full capacity under the leadership of their new executive head who leads both North Cerney and Bibury Schools.
