Swinbrook Farms and Wilcote Farm - Unreserved Machinery Auction

MOORE Allen & Innocent undertook one of the biggest machinery auctions in its history on Thursday, September 19, at South Lawn Farm, Swinbrook, near Burford.

The sale was conducted on behalf of Swinbrook Farms and Wilcote Farm and comprised almost the entire machinery and equipment off about 3,000 acres of mainly arable farmland.

Also included in the sale was a substantial range of workshop and shoot equipment off the Swinbrook Estate.

Most of the equipment was in first class order and had been well maintained by the farm staff.

It was presented in immaculate condition, cleaned and polished and set out in dead straight lines in the sale field.

A huge assembly gathered for this completely genuine auction, with buyers

attending from all over the country, and indeed from abroad.

The sale was entirely unreserved, resulting in buyers bidding with confidence, which resulted in a fantastic trade.

The eight lots shown in the photograph achieved a total hammer price of £477,200:

Top price of the day was for the Claas 760 Lexion Combine (‘12 plate) at £117,000.

Other top prices were for the Fendt 724 tractor at £90,200, the Challenger tracked tractor at £83,000 and the MF 7718 tractor at £64,200.

The JCB Loadall achieved £42,200 with the Chafer Guardian trailed sprayer at £40,000.

Three Landrovers sold to a flying trade with top price of £22,200 for a LWB Utility with 50,000 miles on the clock on a ‘14 plate.

An excellent row of grain trailers sold to £10,300 for a Cherry 16 tonne, ‘13 model.

The workshop and electrical items were sold under cover and again, achieved a flying trade with top prices for three Top Con receivers selling for a total of £16,000.

Our next machinery auction is our Autumn Collective Sale at Great Somerford near Malmesbury, Wiltshire, which will be held on Saturday, October 13.
