A PULHAMS BUS carrying passengers caught fire in Tetbury yesterday (Wednesday, September 26).

The incident happened on the A433 near the Audi garage coming in to Tetbury just before midday. 

It is thought that two fire engines and two police cars were on the scene. 

Fire services put out the fire, but it is not yet known how it started.

The road from the Audi garage roundabout was closed while the fire services dealt with the fire but the road is now re-opened. 

A spokerperson for Pulhams coaches said: "We are investigating into how the fire happened. 

"All passengers were removed safely and no one was injured. 

"A replacement vehicle arrived shortly after to take passengers on there way.

"Services will no be disrupted today by the incident."

Ian Tonner, area manager for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said; “We were called to a fire involving a 37 seater bus at 11:35am this morning.

“Before we arrived, the vehicle had been evacuated and no one was hurt.

"A replacement bus came to collect people for their onward journey.

“Crews from Tetbury and Stroud attended and spent 20 minutes on the scene making the bus safe.”
