HUNDREDS of visitors enjoyed Cirencester's first vegan fair on Sunday - with many calling for it to become an annual event.

The inaugural event, which featured dozens of companies and organisations, exceeded all expectations as over vegans, or those looking to explore a meat-free lifestyle turned out to sample the meat-free products on offer.

Hosted in collaboration with the venue Corn Hall, attendees were treated to a day long celebration of all things vegan.

Showcased at the event were a range of traders offering plant-powered food, clothing and accessories, health and beauty products and crafts and lifestyle brands.

Those already practising a meat-free lifestyle, or who were just looking for some tasty vegan treats were also able to enjoy a mix of talks and family activities to keep them educated and entertained throughout the day.

Exhibitors include Good Carma Foods who make dairy free cheeses that don't sacrifice flavour and currently celebrating being nominated for a Vegfest Award in the Best Vegan Cheese category.

Also in attendance were Badgers Vegan Kitchen who brought their tasty vegan sandwich fillers to tempt visitors - including coleslaw, potato salad, egg mayo alternative, coronation 'clicken' and 'tunah' mayo.

But it wasn't only edible meat alternatives that were on offer, cosmetics and beauty companies were also on hand to discuss products which do not contain animal by-products and have not been tested on animals.
