An Aldi supermarket will open in Stroud this winter.
Recruitment adverts for the store, which is being built at the Bath Road trading estate, are beginning to appear on Facebook and cite a December opening date.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are hoping to open our new Stroud store this winter and recruitment is already underway for the up to 40 new jobs this will create.“

At the time groups against the plans argued the discount store would harm trade in town centres, lead to job losses and cause traffic problems.
But after a government appeal and outcry on social media, district councillors approved the plans in September last year.
The application included a 120-space car park and the demolition of several buildings on the industrial estate, such as Stroud Auction Rooms, which has now moved to Lightpill Mill.
