A ROAD in Cam will be resurfaced overnight next month.

The works will take place on the A38 Bristol Road from Friday, October 5.

The resurfacing will repair the section of the A38 Bristol Road that has reached the end of its life expectancy.

There will be a full road closure overnight from Friday, October 5 to Monday, October 22.

To minimise disruption on this busy A road, work will take place between 7pm to 7am each night, except on the weekends.

A diversion suitable for all type of vehicles will be in place.

Highways crews will be resurfacing over 21,800m² of road with approximately 2,561 tonnes of material.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood, said: “We have scheduled this A38 route for resurfacing and these essential improvements will create a smooth pothole free journey for all road users.

"Keeping the highways in great condition is extremely important to us and we are continuing to make good on our £150 million investment plan for the county’s vital road network.”
