SUPPORTERS of Cirencester Hospital will once again be pulling on their walking boots raising vital funds in next month's annual Walk for Wards in Cirencester Park.

Last year Cirencester Hospital League of Friends and supporters in and around the town took part in Walk for Wards to raise money for a Jaundice Meter to benefit newborn babies.

On Sunday, October 7 Hospital Friends will this year be walking to get behind the Cirencester Maternity Appeal, raising funds for SonicAids which help Cirencester midwives use to monitor a baby’s heartbeat.

Organisers are hoping that the community will come together and join them to raise as many funds as possible and help make a real difference to new babies and families.

Richard Smith, head of fundraising at the Hospital said:“The Jaundice Meter funded by the League of Friends last year has been making a real impact, enabling our midwives to safeguard new babies from serious illness and respond to symptoms at the earliest possible stage.

"It’s fantastic that they’ll be back in support of our Maternity Team once again this year, and it would be great to see as many people as possible taking part in the walk to raise funds”.

Walk for Wards features a full 10km or family friendly short route. Dogs are welcome and entry is free. Start 10am.
