SAM PRIOR insists he’s happy to be at home after Brimscombe and Thrupp were drawn against Western League Cribbs FC in the FA Vase first round.
Cribbs, who beat Shortwood United 5-1 on Saturday will travel to the Meadow next month.
“ I’m really pleased the game is on our home ground, “ said Prior. “We played them last year in the GFA Cup and won 3-2."
Under-par Brimscombe reached the first round after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Easington Sports thanks to strikes from Jack Smith and a last-gasp Harrison Reeves goal.
Prior added: “It was a good result.
"We had a lot missing through injury and unavailability so we had to take four from the development squad, so to get a result was great. I think the quality shone through in the second half and we deserved it."
Prior thinks his side have yet to hit the ground running.
He claimed: “I still believe we haven’t picked a settled XI, so things have been a bit topsy-turvy, but if we can get everyone fit and keep them fit, which is the key, then hopefully I’ll get those headaches and we can kick-on.”
Brimscombe travel to high-flying Ascot on Saturday, 3pm.
