LAST week Tetbury fire crew took part in the great bed push initiative as part of the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service GFRS Against Cancer Campaign, Kevin Painter writes.
Fire stations across Gloucestershire are taking part in the initiative and will be pushing a bed over 160 miles across six days around the county from fire station to fire station, raising funds for the Gloucestershire Oncology Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Following its journey from Cirencester, the Tetbury crew took the bed over and pushed it for 10 and a half miles on its journey to Wotton Under Edge, down the arduous long hill to Wotton.
So far the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service has raised £15,640 towards its £100,000 target.
