ONE patient has been treated for minor injuries following a fire on a roof in Foregate Street.
An eye witness informed the Worcester News of emergency crews outside the Whitehouse Hotel, and the fire service has confirmed the fire was in relation to some building work.
Two crews are dealing with the blaze on a “flat roof involving external pipe work being carried out by builders”, said a Hereford and Worcester Fire spokeswoman.
Emergency calls had been made at 11.28am.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesman said, “one patient is being assessed” but “no burns are involved”.
He said the injuries did not appear to be serious.
The fire spokeswoman added that smoke had got into the building’s bedrooms.
A spokesperson for Worcester Whitehouse Hotel said: "We can confirm there was a minor fire on the roof of the hotel this morning with guests evacuated as a precaution.
"The fire was put out quickly and guests were allowed back into the hotel once given the all clear by the fire brigade in attendance.
"There is no internal damage and operations returned to normal shortly after the fire was extinguished."
