COTSWOLD property specialists, Butler Sherborn, is expanding its lettings department in Cirencester on the back of strong demand from the town and surrounding villages.

The company has run its lettings business across its three offices for many years, but the increase in demand makes the expansion of Cirencester an obvious step, as Vanessa Carter, head of lettings based in Burford explains: “Over the last year there has been a particular increase in the number of young executives and their families moving into the area, and either working locally or commuting to Cheltenham, Oxford, Swindon or Bristol.

“We have established a good reputation with landlords and tenants alike, and provide a first class lettings service with a wide range of properties - from one bedroom apartments in town, country cottages and village houses, through to large manor houses with stables and land.”

The Cirencester lettings business will now be run by Emma Abbott, who as an established member of the Butler Sherborn lettings department has lived around Cirencester for many years and knows the area well. She will be developing the business within the town and local villages.

Commented Sam Butler: “Home buyers often see renting as a way of getting to know an area before eventually deciding to buy their ideal home in this part of the Cotswolds - where demand nearly always outstrips supply.

“Sometimes the only way people can have the opportunity to acquire a property, particularly in a popular village, is to rent close by so they are on the spot when something suitable comes on to the market. We work very closely with our sales team so we can alert tenants who are looking to buy.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the business, and takes what we have nurtured over the years and further expands our geographic presence, without compromising the service our clients have come to expect.”
