ELIJAH Adebayo’s 94th-minute equaliser against M K Dons last weekend saw the Town faithful leave the County Ground in a jubilant mood, as once again Phil Brown’s side managed to earn something out of a seemingly lost situation.

The never-say-die attitude inside this squad has been one the most impressive aspects of the season so far.

But it’s also worrying that in all of our home games Town always find themselves having to stage a comeback.

This side has to start imposing it’s football and style on their opponents straight from kick-off, and not allow visitors the chance to settle and start dictating the game.

We should see an improvement in that area when midfield enforcer Toumani Diagouraga returns from his ban.

Since his arrival it doesn’t seem the former Brentford man has been fully match fit, but when he reaches that stage, he’ll become the anchor this team is missing.

Despite falling behind early against the Dons, the defence seemed slightly more stable last Saturday, thanks largely to an improved performance from Millwall loanee Sid Nelson.

With the arrival of new loanee Luke Woolfenden from Ipswich and the rave reviews that come with him from Suffolk, it will be interesting to see if Brown sticks with the in-form Nelson and drops out-of-form captain Olly Lancashire for Woolfenden.

Hopefully the manager will go with form over who is the current club skipper.

Despite many Ipswich fans saying Town have signed a top-drawer centre-back, Woolfenden doesn’t fix the issue of a new experienced man to come in and organise the backline.

Some have suggested Anton Ferdinand, who has recently been released by Southend. But I would look straight to free agent Paul Caddis.

I admit there are a few hurdles to clear if he would even think about moving back to Wiltshire, such as falling two divisions from Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

But if I was Lee Power I would be spending some of the transfer money he’s received over the years on a competitive wage for Caddis and doing all I can to convince our former captain to return and for a second time to lead our club out of the basement of English football.
