A 10-YEAR-OLD eco-warrior organised two litter picks in Fairford last weekend.
Fairford Primary School pupil Heather Kent sent out a plea on social media encouraging other members of the community to join her over the Bank Holiday weekend as part of her fight against litter.
Despite the rain, the young ambassador and Albert Alder award winner was joined by lots of willing helpers who managed to collect several large bags of rubbish, taller than Heather herself.
Heather started her campaign against litter when she picked up litter every single day throughout Lent.
So far through sponsorship, Heather has raised around £1,000 to donate to her three chosen causes, Fairford Primary School, Cancer Research and Starfish dog Rescue.
Earlier this year, Fairford Town Council awarded Heather the Albert Alder Award for her environmental pursuits around Fairford and the Ernest Cook Trust made her a Young Ambassador for Fairford at Fairford Festival.
Heather has been part of the eco-warrior scheme at Fairford Primary School for over two years and is passionate about keeping her home town free from litter and plastic.
