THE Mini Praise that was scheduled for last Thursday is now on Thursday August 9 and will be a summer picnic at 12 noon.

FAIRFORD Steam Engines are back! Not the full rally, but there will be Steam Engines back in Fairford Market Place for one night only on Saturday, August 11 from 6-10pm. This year would have been the 50th anniversary of the popular steam rally and is being commemorated with a gathering of steam engines outside the Bull Hotel to re-create the old atmosphere that the community once loved. Come along and enjoy the atmosphere that we have missed so much. This is a free event, but there may be a charity collection.

MESSY Church will take place at 4-6pm on the 2nd Sunday of the month in St Mary’s Church, Fairford. Crafts, games, worship, cooked meal for families. MESSY Tuesday will be on throughout August at Fairford United Church from 12.30-3pm. There will be special activities each week.

On Tuesday, August 14, there will be jigsaws; on Tuesday, August 21, there will be crafts and on Tuesday, August 28, there will be a film. Lunchtime meal each week, stories that Jesus told and regular activities. For children (Primary or Pre-School) and carer. No charge. U3A Five Rhythms Dance is every 3rd Wednesday at 10am in the Palmer Hall, Fairford. The next session is Wednesday, August 15.

THERE will be pranks galore and tons of fun in your library this summer with the Summer Reading Challenge. The theme is Mischief Makers, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the much-loved comic The Beano.

Follow clues to explore the colourful collector’s map of Beanotown; meeting Dennis, Gnasher and friends along the way. Collect stickers to help you find the buried treasure!

On Thursday, August 16, the event from 10-11am is fully booked. But from 11.30am-12.30pm, Paul Carpenter will talk about Life in the Rainforest. Meet real animals and insects from the rainforest in the Library. For 5-11 years old. Booking essential. Also on Thursday,August 16 from 2-3.30pm, there will be face painting at the Create and Colour Club. This is a free event. No booking needed. Just come along and join in.
