THIS Sunday it is the Tetbury Annual Summer Show on the August 12. Held as always at the Recreation Ground.The gates will open at 12 noon,with the procession leaving the Market House at 12.45pm,and the Marquee opening at 1pm. In the marquee there will be the traditional horticulture and crafts for adults and children. The Adam Philby Skate Jam will also be on that day at the Skate board Park. JOIN Liz and Tam on August 16 making 3D dioramas with imaginary railway travellers in silhouette in a Summer Workshops in the restored Train Carriage at the Tetbury Goods Shed with Artsparks, an established team of two local artists, Liz Lancashire and Tam Inglis. They provide art workshops, after school clubs and parties for children aged 6 – 11 years. This is the first of a series of different workshops. 10am-1pm. £25. THE next Tetbury & District Footpath Group Walk is on Friday, August 17. Meeting at 10am at The Goods Shed. Cars will be needed to get to start point as the walk will be from Painswick to Sheepscombe for lunch at the Butchers Arms. Then steep climb (but lovely views) and back via Lords and Ladies woods. Length: 6M 9.75 K, Level: B/C, Leaders Chris and Shirley 01666 502164. If you would like lunch please contact the leaders by August 16. All are welcome however walkers are not insured by the Group and are responsible for their own safety.

THE next police open surgery meeting will be on Wednesday, August 15 from 10-11am at Tetbury Town Council Offices, The Old Courthouse, 63 Long Street, Tetbury.

The police would like your assistance in relationship to an incident that happened between 6.30pm on July 7 and 10.30am on July 8 at The Chipping Street Car Park, Tetbury. Unknown offenders removed the spare tyre from an unattended Land Rover Discovery by cutting the cable under the vehicle. If you have any information regarding this incident please report the matter to the police by ringing 101 or by email to 101@gloucestershire.police.uk.

BRIAN Kimber who has just stood down as a church warden after six and half years and a regular church attendee for over 30 years and has maintained the flag that flies in St Mary’s churchyard for 15 years. He was presented with a large key mounted symbolising all his work for the church. Brian who was genuinely surprised said afterwards: ''I would like to say a very big thank you to all concerned with the lovely gift I was recently given by Tetbury Church. It was such a shock that I was emotionally overcome and didn't say thank you in person. I hope, health allowing, to be of some use to the Church I love for a long time yet."

THE popular and well attended Animal Service in Shipton Moyne is on Sunday, August 26 at 11.15am. Do bring your pets along for a blessing. It is always a joyfully riotous occasion. All are welcome.

THE Tetbury Community bus raffle took place on Saturday, August 4 at the Priory Inn. This project is to raise money to provide a local form of transport for those who are unable to get out on their own. The raffle raised a fantastic hundred and £60 and the organisers Diana and Ray would like to thank the businesses who donated so generously - The Snooty Fox, Martyn of Springfield motors, Tetbury Hardware courtesy of Malcolm Philby, a signed book from Tetbury author Daff Hart Davis, the Priory Inn Tetbury and plants from Tim from under the Market hall, and Dolly at Leopard Press. THERE will be some disruption to Tetbury as a rural fibre cable installation will take place on roads too narrow for vehicles to pass safely. The disruption will be between five to 16 days from August 13-September 16. They will give at least one week notice prior to each road being closed. The roads scheduled are 401503 junction B4014. Hampton Street to junction 401497, Chavenage Lane approximately 275m. The 401497 junction 401503 Hampton Street hermit cave plantation, to junction 401499 Charlton Lane approximately 210m.
