A LONG serving supporter of classical music in the county has been celebrated with a special award in memory of Sir Edward Elgar.
Sue Norrington was presented with the Elgar in Herefordshire Senior Award by Dr Timothy Brain, Chairman of the Three Choirs Festival Society at the Left Bank on Monday July 30.
The award recognises those who have contributed to the musical life in the county.
Mrs Norrington was chosen unanimously by the panel for her work in bringing affordable, high-quality classical concerts to churches in Herefordshire and providing her expertise.
One of her nominators said: “Her untiring energy and enthusiasm has been and still is a beacon to those striving to deliver classical music in and around the county. Her example has inspired others to organise music events in their local churches and village halls.”
