POLICE investigating the theft of two distinctive planters in Rudgeway have recovered and returned the donkey-shaped garden ornaments.

The dinky donkeys were taken from outside a home on the A38 overnight between Tuesday, July 17 and Wednesday, July 18.

Thanks to CCTV enquiries PCSO Harriet Davolls and PC Ross Calderwood were able to track the stolen items down to a property in Winterbourne and they have now been returned to their delighted owner.

No one has been arrested in connection with the theft, and anyone with any information which could help the police investigation is asked to get in touch through avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5218159941.
