FIRE crews have put out a fire in Cirencester. 

Fire services were called out at 3.55pm after reports of a fire at Chesterton Farm.

Carl Goymer, group manager for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We were called at 15:55 this afternoon to a fire in a field near to Chesterton Farm in Cirencester.

“Two crews from Cirencester attended and used beaters and a hose reel to deal with a fire in a field of corn over an area of 30m x 30m.

“The fire is now out and crews will be leaving the scene shortly.”
