I AGREE with Wendy Ellis (Gazette 7th June) about the dangers in Rock Street and also, no doubt, in the High Street in Thornbury.
I and my fellow residents at Grace Lodge in Rock Street have been campaigning for some months for some kind of traffic calming measure to be introduced.
The daytime traffic is almost continuous, and some of it travels at considerable speed.
Ideally we should like a pedestrian crossing, because to reach the one by Aldi we have to cross Bath Road, which itself is dangerous because of traffic using the car park.
We have contacted many people to add their voices to ours, including our county councillors and our M.P.
We hope something will be done before there is an accident.
