CHRIS JOB smashed 76 runs and bagged four wickets as Stroud gained the derby day bragging rights to topple league leaders Frocester seconds at the SCG on Saturday.

Winning the toss, returning Stroud captain Will Golding had no hesitation in batting.

Openers Tom Horrell and James O’Brien started brightly and took the score to 35 in quick time before both were to fall in the space of a few deliveries.

This brought Dom Thompson and Chris Job to the crease.

After the break, both batsman took the attack to the Frocester bowlers with an array of fantastic shots and running before Thompson departed for a very well made 67.

Golding joined Job at the crease and the runs continued to flow with ease until Job was caught behind for 76.

Paul Frape then joined the crease only for his partner Golding to fall shortly after. Matt Smith then joined Frape and the pair batted extremely well to take Stroud to 246 for six at the end of their 50 overs. Smith finishing on 23 and Frape 22.

Luke Palmer shared the new ball with Tom Furley and both gave nothing away putting the Frocester openers under immediate pressure.

Palmer took the opening wicket in a spell of six overs, one for 24 and partner Furley kept things extremely tight only going for 15 in seven overs of quick bowling.

Golding turned to spin, Horrell claimed one for 33 from his 10 and then to his spin-twins of Chris Job and Gavin Dean who took seven wickets to seal victory for Stroud.

Dean took three for 26 from his eight overs and Chris Job four for 36 from his 10 to complete his man-of-the-match performance Star man: Chris Job. Seventy six brilliant runs and four wickets.
