A Fish and Chip shop will be celebrating national sandwich week with an exclusive offer.

Malt and Anchor, who are based on Castle street in Cirencester will be showcasing fresh, made to order sandwiches with a seafood twist exclusively for national sandwich week which begins on Sunday, May 20.

Each day a different sandwich will feature on their specials board including – Lobster and Asparagus, Soft Shell Crab and of course the Fish finger sandwich.

Head Chef Chip Pavlenco joked “The sandwich is possibly one of Britain’s greatest culinary inventions, after Fish and Chips of course.

"This along with their ever popular healthy eating ‘Express Lunch menu’ shows how far the modern day chippy has come.”

Malt and Anchor were the winners of ‘Best New Business’ at the Cirencester Chambers of Commerce awards on Friday, May 11."

British Sandwich week is an annual celebration. Over 3,500,000,000 are consumed each year while a total of £7,850,000,000 is spent on sandwiches in the UK.

Sandwich manufacturers and retailers will be offering special promotions and building on their charitable links.

Malt and Anchor have also been nominated for 'Best Restaurant' in the Muddy Stilettos awards, 'Best Restaurant' in the Food and Farming awards and Best Take away in the 'So Glos' awards.
