A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of car theft and being in possession of class B drugs after he was chased down by a police dog.
Officers were responding to a report of suspected vehicle theft in the London Road area, Moreton-in-Marsh, at around 2.45am this morning where five men were seen running from Primrose Court towards a silver car which then sped off.
The men then abandoned the car in Redesdale Court and made off towards the fire station, before separating.
A police dog, working with a team of officers, successfully detained one of the suspects.
The 24-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of car theft and possession of class B drugs.
He is currently in custody awaiting questioning.
Anyone who witnessed any of suspicious activity in Moreton-in-Marsh this morning or has any information about the people involved is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 49 of May 4.
