RECENT spells of rain and cold weather are set to pass as the region will be bathed in sunshine by the end of the bank holiday, this is brilliant news for sun worshippers so get you're beer and barbeques at the ready.

Friday May 4: Bringing highs of 17 degrees celcius and lows of 9 skies will be largely cloudy. The weather is likely to remain dry with a 10 per cent chance of rain and low wind speeds peaking at 6mph in what is likely to be a mild day.

Saturday May 5: As we enter the weekend the weather will remain similar with the temperature rising to 18 degrees celcius and not falling below 9 although we are likely to see sunny intervals. There will be a 10 per cent chance of rain and light winds that will not rise above 4mph.

Clear blue skies and sun will dominate the later stages of the bank holiday

Sunday May 6: Temperatures will improve with sunny skies, highs of 20 degrees celcius and lows of 8. There will be a very low 5 per cent chance of rain and slightly higher wind speeds reaching 8mph.

Monday May 7: Fortunately bank holiday Monday will be the warmest of the four days with the temperature peaking at 21 degrees celcius and not falling below 10. Sunny skies will supplement low wind speeds of 8mph and again there will be a low 5 per cent chance of rain.
