The Dolphins Hall Community Centre's extension plans have been approved.

Cotswold District Council's planning committee voted unanimously in favour of the proposed extension at their latest planning, meeting on Wednesday April 11, going with the officers recommendation.

The extension will enable the Dolphins Hall, on New Church street Tetbury, to house a range of additional community facilities, including a youth club and nursery.

Dolphins Hall currently occupies a number of fitness and pre school groups but is in need of significant refurbishment to meet the future needs of Tetbury.

Mayor of Tetbury Cllr Stephen Hirst said: "The Dolphins Hall is used by many Tetbury organisations and is an important part of the fabric of the town. It's very pleasing that the new plans for the Hall have received Planning Permission, hopefully building work will commence without further delay so that a refurbished hall can offer more facilities and offer even more benefits in a more modern setting and will be fit for purpose for many years to come."
