YOUNG pupils from Fairford Primary School were able to put their new cooking skills into practice by laying on an eggcellent Easter tea party for their families.
Forty six students from Apple class, aged between four and five, worked alongside The Kitchen Club team to create the Easter-themed tea party.
The children got the opportunity to prepare all the ingredients and put together all the Easter-themed dishes, which included egg and cress sandwiches made with cress grown by the children themselves, hot cross buns, and chocolate flower-pot muffins, representing spring and rebirth.
The budding chefs also made chocolate shredded wheat egg nests, signifying eggs creating new life.
Meliny Tim of The Kitchen Club explained: “The idea is that the children will cook different Easter-related teatime treats for their parents to taste and enjoy.
"It will also give the parents an opportunity to see all the learning skills that the children have gained since starting their school journey in September.”
The Kitchen Club is a cooking initiative that is passionate about teaching primary aged children to cook and eat well for life.
