A PAINSWICK care home is inviting members of the public to visit next month.

Richmond Village Care Home is taking part in the special day which is designed to help develop better relationships within the community.

This community connection is something that Richmond has nurtured since opening in 2007.

The care home is already one of the community hubs, with monthly stroke group meetings and a new Parkinson’s group.

As part of the Care Home Open Day 2018, Richmond is hosting a choir performance at 2pm, lollipop ponies (miniature Shetlands) visit at 3pm – 4pm followed by an afternoon tea.

Bev Ingram, Village Manager at the home believes this is an excellent way to bring the community together.

"This day allows us to show off the fantastic work that goes on at Richmond,” said Bev.

“Some people still have misconceptions about care homes so we are keen to dispel any myths and for people to come and have a look around, meet the staff and our residents."
