A PRODUCTION company is on the hunt for a family of master chefs to compete in a popular cookery show.

The Big Family Cooking Showdown is returning for a second series on BBC 2 this year and applications are now open for families to get involved.

Each team will comprise of three members of the same family, but do not need to live in the same house and can be any combination – aunt, sister, husband or father-in-law for instance.

The show aired for the first time last year and was presented by Great British Bake Off winner Nadia Hussain, and Zoe Ball.

Michelin-starred chef Georgio Locatelli and renowned cookery teacher Rosemary Shrager were also on hand to judge the competitive family members.

Frankie Mensah from Voltage TV, explained more about who the production company is looking for: “We are making a new series of the well-loved show The Big Family Cooking Showdown for BBC2 and we are looking for new families who may be interested in taking part," he said.

“So if your mum id the queen of the classics, your dad is always experiment with new recipes or your aunt gets excited about unusual ingredients then we want to hear from you!”
