BOULDERS left strewn across a Cotswolds road put drivers at risk, police have warned.
Police spent several hours clearing them from a road on Minchinhampton Common, near Stroud, this morning.
The road was closed during the clearance work.
They were probably the work of pranksters, who presumably used a mechanical digger.
But police say the consequences could have been dire.
"What may have seemed like a bit of a laugh last night could have resulted in a very nasty accident. Please think before you act," warned Stroud police.
They also hinted that the culprits left clues that may help police trace them.
In a tweet, police said: "Whilst clearing your obstruction, we noticed from the blood that you left behind you may have hurt your hands.
"We will be sure to check on your welfare when we catch up with you, but in the meantime please get yourself checked over."
