FOLLOWING on from the consultation last autumn and the vote last Monday, Thornbury Town Council has a clear mandate to retain the Armstrong Hall site.
They must now start a major exercise with all local user groups/professional bodies etc to eventually come up with a design to meet local (including north Bristol/South Glos) needs for next 50 years.
Offering up a quick architect's idea and expecting the public to agree was an insult to Thornbury people's intelligence!
We were not informed whether any discussion with outside experts had taken place.
I would expect it should take up to six-12 months before the council can come back to the public again with an acceptable design for this important site which will meet all present and potential users needs.
