FAMOUS chefs will be teaming up to cook a special dinner in Stroud next month to help bring water to an African school.

Masterchef’s Wayne Sullivan, two Michelin starred Matt Breedon and Bob Parkinson, from Made by Bob in Cirencester, will be among the cast of culinary kings that will gather at The Malthouse in Stroud to raise money for a water supply for The Success Nursery School in The Gambia.

The dinner is the brainchild of Kim Harvey, whose daughter is travelling to the west African country next year.

“When we heard the school had no water supply, we knew we had to do something”, said Kim.

“We are very fortunate to have so many talented chefs around here and when I explained to them what I wanted to do they all said ‘yes’ straight away.

“We have called the event Mayhem at the Malthouse as mayhem has to be the collective name for chefs, surely!”

Bob Parkinson, formerly of Bibendum in London but who is now chef patron of his own Cirencester restaurant, said: “It promises to be a great night and I can’t wait to work with so many big names from our industry.

“We sometimes forget how fortunate we are so it is great to be involved in something that will be doing some good somewhere else in the world”.

Other top chefs that could be cooking for you on the night include Chris Underwood, a former pastry chef at Claridges, Mark Reid, head chef at Browns of Mayfair, Iain Dixon, head chef at Foxhills on the Farnecombe Estate, James Chef, Cotswold private chef, and Ryan King, head chef at The Malthouse.

The fundraising dinner takes place on Friday, January 19 and tickets cost £75 each. For more information and to purchase go to mayhem190118.eventbrite.co.uk or call The Malthouse on 01453 764003.
