GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council is holding a drop-in event at the Victorian Christmas Market to encourage people to consider fostering a child this Christmas.
This Friday, people are being encouraged to come along and have their questions answered about fostering by experienced foster carers.
The drop-in session will also provide information on allowances, types of fostering and the assessment process.
The council accepts applications to foster from all sectors of society.
There is no upper age limit to foster and people can be married, single, co-habiting, in a heterosexual or same sex relationship, a homeowner or renting a property.
All children are different, and to meet their needs, the county council is looking for a wide variety of people.
The council is particularly keen to hear from people looking to foster older children, siblings and teenagers.
Applicants will need to be over 21 and have a spare room in their home.
The drop in will take place at the Gloucester Quays Victorian Market next to Chapelle between 10am and 4pm.
