A 19-YEAR-OLD man who died after being struck by a car on the A433 in Cirencester was a student at the Royal Agricultural University, it has been confirmed.

The teenager died on Sunday in Southmead Hospital having suffered serious head injuries following the collision in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He is believed to have been walking back to Cirencester from a party.

Professor Jo Price, RAU vice-chancellor, said: “We are sorry to report that an RAU student was involved in a fatal road traffic collision in the early hours of Saturday, September 30. 

“The student was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where they sadly passed away on Sunday morning. 

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends at this difficult time.

"We are offering support to those affected," she said. "Staff and students mourn the loss of a much-loved member of the RAU community. 

“We are in touch with the police and are helping them with their enquiries.”
