PRINCESS Marie Louise, the granddaughter of Queen Victoria was pictured above (centre) with Major and Mrs Lowsley-Williams at the Tetbury Show in 1927.
Princess Marie became a devoted patron of the arts and charitable organisations after she unwillingly had her marriage with homosexual Prince Aribert annulled in 1900.
She never remarried, maintaining her wedding vows despite the annulment. And after WWI she again lost her surname in a bid to distance the royal family from its German connections.
The Tetbury Show is still held every summer, with this year’s event having taken place on August 13. Each year new attractions are added to the traditional marquee of flowers, fruit and vegetables.
