WALKERS raising money for Macmillan Cancer support passed through Wiltshire last week as part of their epic 297-mile, coast-to-coast hike from Lincolnshire to Dorset.

James Gray, MP for North Wiltshire, joined the team for a leg of the walk.

Rob Bryan, who sadly lost his mum to cancer, is the lead walker, but it’s a real community effort. Throughout the hike, more than 200 people will be joining in for a section – the most people to have attempted the Macmillan Way Challenge at any one time.

James said: “I am delighted to be able to join Rob Bryan for a short distance as he travels through North Wiltshire on his epic journey.

"I applaud him for his heroic efforts to raise money for such a worthwhile cause and one of which I have direct family experience.

“The Macmillan organisation is always there when we need it and deserves our wholehearted support.”

Every day in Wiltshire 11 people will hear the devastating news that they have cancer and five people will die from the illness. Macmillan ensures that no-one faces cancer alone.
