A 41-year-old man accused of a £17,000 raid on a Moreton-in-Marsh clothes shop has today denied the burglary and will stand trial on August 31.
At Gloucester Crown Court, Christopher Thomas pleaded not guilty to breaking into Henry's clothing store in Oxford Street, Moreton, on March 2 last year with others and stealing clothing.
The judge, Recorder Timothy Rose, remanded him in custody pending trial.
Thomas, of London Road, Gloucester, entered his plea after his lawyer, Elaine Evans, failed in a bid to have the charge thrown out on the grounds of insuffient evidence.
The Recorder ruled that, although the prosecution case is based only on mast tracking of Thomas' phone at the time of the offence, there is sufficient evidence for a jury to consider.
