CONGRATULATIONS are in order for a Malmesbury policeman who completed his third London Marathon last weekend.
Richard Warren, 72, said his wife Lynette, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, was his inspiration.
Richard, who is celebrating his 50th year as a special constable with Wiltshire Police, raised £2,500 for the Swindon Therapy Centre for MS where he regularly volunteers.
He completed the race in just over seven and a half hours, saying his time was longer than he’d hoped for because he helped a wheelchair racer who had hit a kerb near Tower Bridge.
“My strategy was to stop every 10km for for a cup of tea and a flapjack provided by my daughter”, he said.
