ONE man and two teenage boys have been arrested in Cirencester on suspicion of sexual activity with children.
Police officers carried out a warrant in Cirencester today, Wednesday September 7, as part of an investigation by the county’s multi-agency Child Abuse Investigation Team into child sexual exploitation.
A 23-year-old man and two boys aged 17, all from Cirencester, have been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with children.
They are currently in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Hatten said: "We take any allegation of the sexual exploitation of children very seriously and we know this news will concern people.
“The Child Sexual Exploitation team has worked extremely hard together with partner agencies tackling sexual exploitation, to proactively pursue the concerns resulting in the arrests today.
"However, we are also appealing to members of the public to report any information they may have about the sexual exploitation of children.
"They can do that through our 101 number or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"We all need to help tackle this crime and ensure our children are safe."
