A WITNESS has come forward to a crash on the A417 which left two motorcyclists with life-threatening injuries.
Police put out an appeal after a white Laverda motorcycle travelling uphill and a red and white articulated heavy goods vehicle going downhill collided on Crickley Hill at 6.15pm on Wednesday.
The rider and pillion passenger of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old man and 49-year-old woman, both from the Gloucester area, were treated at the scene by paramedics and air ambulance staff, before they were taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
They remain in hospital and are now in a serious but stable condition.
The lorry driver, a 33-year-old man from Tewkesbury, was shaken but uninjured.
The road was closed for nine hours during which officers from the Tri-Force Specialist Operations Collaboration unit carried out a detailed investigation.
The investigation team would like to hear from any witnesses who have not yet been spoken to and ask that anyone with information please get in touch by dialling 101 and quoting incident 409 of 6 July.
