WORKERS in Cirencester will be given a loyalty card to recognise their invaluable contribution to the town.

Cirencester Markets' Workers of Cirencester Loyalty Card promotion will give workers discounted offers from traders at the weekly Friday Charter Market and the twice monthly Farmers' Market.

The markets boast an array of stalls selling local produce, cooked food, plants, homewares, crafts and luxury clothing.

Cirencester mayor Mark Harris, lead member for community services, said: “We have some fantastic traders at Cirencester Markets, many of whom have been trading at the market for many years providing high quality, value for money products with a great personal service – even in the midst of the cold winter.

"We wanted to spread the word and enable people working in the town to benefit from the what the market has to offer.”

Suzie Lew, market and events officer at Cirencester Town Council Services, said:“Our traders have come up with individual special offers that complement their businesses which will provide versatility when shopping at the market.

"Shoppers can choose what they want or need, when they need it whilst making some good savings to their wallet.”

Becky Coles, community services manager, added: “We have a number of plans for the future of Cirencester’s Markets.

"This is one of the first steps towards invigorating the market and making the most of the great opportunities that the regeneration of the Market Place will provide.”
